See you soon, Family Thurner from the Pitztaler Hof

If there’s an Alpine valley as wildly romantic as the Pitztal then we’ve yet to visit it. From the Pitzeklamm gorge at the entrance to the valley to Austria's highest coffee house on the Pitztal glacier, there are countless natural treasures and excursion destinations to explore. Go hiking, biking and swimming, discover the ancient cultural history, and experience the advantages of a modern summer resort.

Discover

The heights of Tirol

More than 380 km of hiking trails lead to the most incredible viewpoints and mountain huts in the Pitztal valley.

Getting up high is easy thanks to cable cars in the Hochzeiger area and at the Pitztal Glacier. Highlights such as the idyllic Tiefentalalm and Goglesalm mountain huts, the loop around the Rifflsee lake, or a day at the glacier are recommended activities for one and all. Meanwhile, North Tirol's highest peak, the Wildspitze (3,774 m), is reserved for experienced summiters only.

Cycling at its best

From relaxed to hardcore, the Pitztal valley boast tours for all levels of ability. At some point, the majority of these cross the Pitztal Bike Route, which winds through the entire valley. The buses, which also transport bikes, can help shorten your route or return you back to the starting point.

In 2022, a Single Trail was added for downhill fans. The blue Hochzeiger Family Trail is perfect for beginners, but is also sure to put a big grin on the faces of experienced downhillers too. Bikes and equipment can be rented at the sports stores at the valley station.

Visit the ibexes or relax by the bathing pond

The most popular excursions in Pitztal & surroundings

Not far from the hotel is the Pitz Park Wenns with its natural bathing pond and playground. The ZirbenPark at Hochzeiger with its Zirbenzapfen adventure tower, loop hiking trail and much more, is also highly recommended. Learn all about the dry grassland, moor & glacier ecosystems at the Kaunergrat Nature Park House and enjoy the magnificent "Gachen Blick” view. For an audience with the king of the Alps, visit the Tirolean Ibex Centre at Schrofen with an exciting exhibition and animal enclosures.

Meanwhile, adrenaline fans can whiz down the family-friendly Alpine Coaster (summer toboggan run) in Imst or test their courage during rafting & bungy jumping. There are also opportunities for climbing, running, trail running & Nordic walking in the Pitztal valley at every level.
